To extend the lifespan of your file, please refer to the following usage guidelines:
1. Do not use a new file on hard metals initially.
2. Do not use a file on hardened materials.
3. For castings with a hardened crust or adhering sand, remove the crust on a grinding wheel before using a semi-sharp file.
4. Use one side of a new file first, and only use the other side after that side has become dull.
5. Clean the cutting edges of the file teeth frequently with a wire brush while filing.
6. Do not stack files or store them with other tools.
7. Do not use a file at excessive speed, as this will cause premature wear.
8. Avoid getting the file wet, oily, or otherwise dirty.
9. Do not use a fine file on soft metals.
10. Do not apply excessive force to avoid breakage.
